Veterinary Technician / Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities

• Check patient medical records for past histories, enter in computer system and file.
• Take medical histories and vital signs of patients.
• Maintain client educational material efficiently.
• Perform departmental housekeeping duties.
• Admit and discharge patients.
• Takes, processes, and logs prescription refills in-house, call‑out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
• Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
• Administer medications to patients as needed.
• Place catheters and perform blood draws.
• Restrain and assist the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
• Lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED, and 1‑2 years of related experience or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Arkansas are preferred but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
