Veterinary Technician / Assistant – Nottingham Animal Clinic, Houston, TX

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Check patient medical records for past histories, enter in computer and file.
  • Take medical histories and vital signs of patients.
  • Maintain client educational material in an efficient manner.
  • Admit and discharge patients.
  • Take, process, and log prescription refills in-house, call-out to pharmacy and online pharmacy.
  • Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
  • Administer medications to patients as needed.
  • Place catheters and perform blood draws.
  • Restrain and assist the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Denotes an Essential Function.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must be able to multi-task. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Texas are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
