Job summary

Countryside Veterinary Service-Middlefield is hiring a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our four‑doctor practice. Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience.
  • Excellent patient handling and nursing skills.
  • Experience with venipuncture, lab procedures, IV catheter placement, and radiography.
  • Strong communication and client service abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate patient care and exceptional client service.
  • Educate clients about hospital services, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgical procedures, dentistry, treatments, and diagnostics.
  • Evaluate patients and communicate changes in condition or client concerns to the veterinary team.
  • Perform technical skills including venipuncture, laboratory testing, IV catheter placement, treatments, and radiography.
  • Admit, discharge, medicate, feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized patients.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals of all sizes.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation.
  • Keep treatment areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for patient care.
  • Stay current on medications, hospital protocols, and veterinary best practices.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care.

  • Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
  • Schedule: Three-and-a-half to four days per week (34–38 hours), with rotating Saturdays
