Job summary

Gardner Animal Care Center is seeking a compassionate veterinary technician assistant to support our care team. You will assist with exams, treatments, surgical and dental procedures, and patient care, while handling animals safely and helping maintain patient records.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician assistant.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• CVT, RVT, or LVT certification preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians and veterinarians with exams, treatments, surgical and dental procedures.
• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
• Patient care, feeding, walking, giving medications and general care.
• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
• Maintenance, cleaning, and laundry responsibilities.

We are seeking to find a veterinary technician assistant to support the care we provide, who is compassionate with a positive attitude and wants to join our fun, energetic, and a caring environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician assistant.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Pay Range: $18.00 to $20.00 hourly based on experience
