Job summary

Aloha Affordable Veterinary Services in Hawaii is hiring a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant for a full-time role. The position features a rotating four-day work week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with salary negotiable based on experience and credentials.

You will join a compassionate team that supports rescue organizations and community spay/neuter events while delivering high-quality patient care and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Veterinary Technician credential preferred, or at least one year of previous veterinary assistant or animal care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and procedures.
• Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
• Perform venipuncture, laboratory sample collection, and in-house diagnostics.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Safely restrain patients using compassionate, low-stress handling techniques.
• Educate clients on medications, treatments, and preventive care.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment.

What Veterinary Technicians & Assistants Do
