Sequist Animal Hospital in Morristown, Vermont seeks a Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate team. Work Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with a four-day work week and no weekends or late-night shifts. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour with a $1,000 sign-on bonus for surgical experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician or diploma in veterinary technology.
• Certification/licensure as a veterinary technician preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams and surgeries.
• Administer medications and vaccines per veterinarian orders.
• Perform radiology and phlebotomy duties.
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures and post-op care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and therapy logs.
• Educate clients on treatments and home care.

Pay Range: rate is based off from experience and certifications but can range from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. This can vary depending on experience.

SIGN ON BONUS FOR SURGICAL EXPERIENCE OF $1000.00

Core Responsibilities / Skills

• Assisting Veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
• Understanding of medical terminology and products
• Safe and fear free animal restraint/handling
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Running lab diagnostics
• Radiology techniques (including dental)
• Phlebotomy skills / catheter placement
• Appropriate sterilization of hospital and equipment
• Provide education for clients through effective communication
• Anesthesia monitoring including pre and post op
• Machine maintenance
• Appropriate record keeping
