BluePearl Pet Hospital offers an exciting opportunity for Veterinary Technicians to utilize and expand their skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

Schedule: Full-Time

Position: Veterinary Technician for our ER Department

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases, obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math, including infusion rates, and administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train colleagues.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
