Job summary

Riverwalk Animal Hospital - Sanford, FL is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The role includes animal restraint, triage, lab sample collection, diagnostic imaging, and nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients.

The position requires late afternoon to evening availability, one weekend day, and entails working seven days with extended hours until 10 PM. We offer continuing education, paid time off, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

• Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Additional Information

Pay Range:$18-$20/hr

Position Type:Full-time

**Position requires late afternoon to evening availability. One weekend day required.

Hours of Operation:

We’re open 7 days a week until 10 PM.

• Mon-Fri: 9:00AM - 10:00PM
• Sat: 12:00PM - 10:00PM
• Sun: 12:00PM - 10:00PM
