Job summary

Riverbank Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. You will assist with exams, treatments, and surgeries, while ensuring compassionate care for our canine and feline patients.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Knowledge of disinfection, administering medications, and using diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples
• Administer medications and vaccinations under a veterinarian's supervision
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Communicate with pet owners about care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits
• Clean and maintain the clinic, stocking supplies and ensuring a safe, sanitary environment

Salary: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday- Friday 8AM-7PM with one day off during the week
