CityVet is seeking Veterinary Technicians to join us! A Veterinary Technician Assistant will also be considered (with a minimum of 1-year experience).

Compensation is based on experience and education.

Responsibilities

The Veterinary Technician (VT) maintains excellent patient care and operational productivity by assisting the Veterinarian, helping to leverage their time and efforts to meet client and patient needs. The VT relieves the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative tasks to improve efficiency. They facilitate communication between the operating room, front office, and clients.

Essential qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age at hire
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary industry experience
• Ability to properly and safely restrain animals
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medications
• Ability to lift 50 lbs to waist height
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Self-motivated and team-oriented

A day in the life:

• Assist Veterinarians: prepare patients for surgery, monitor post-op, restrain animals during exams
• Obtain samples: stool, blood, and other specimens for testing
• Conduct tests and interpret results
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, as prescribed
• Communicate with clients: gather medical info and provide care instructions
• Support the Client Service Specialist team as needed
