Job summary

Creature Comforts Veterinary Resort and Suites, Inc. in Inman, SC is seeking a veterinary assistant to support our full-service clinic, boarding, and grooming operations.

Responsibilities include patient restraint, triage, sample collection, lab work, radiographs, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience, strong teamwork, and a willingness to grow with our team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary assistant with at least 1 year preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player with strong communication.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.
• Experience with sample collection, medical histories, lab tests, radiographs; anesthesia monitoring bonus.
• Self-motivated and eager to advance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Restrain patients and triage incoming cases.
• Collect and analyze lab samples; manage nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases.
• Perform diagnostic imaging as needed.
• Administer medications and assist with surgical preparation and anesthesia.
• Effectively communicate treatment plans with clients.

Creature Comforts Veterinary Resort and Suites, Inc. (CCVRS)is the vision of Craig and Donna Lambert. Dr. Lambert began Creature Comforts Veterinary House Call Service in 2001 and has practiced veterinary medicine in the Upstate since 1994. Donna and her husband, Craig, married their respective careers and launched Creature Comforts Veterinary Resort and Suites, inc. in 2008 after years of research, preparation, and planning. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
