Creature Comforts Veterinary Resort and Suites, Inc. is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Upstate hospital. You will assist with restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, and nursing care in a fast-paced, compassionate team environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of veterinary experience, strong communication, and a willingness to learn. We offer comprehensive benefits, paid time off, continuing education support, and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• 1 year of veterinary assistant experience preferred.
• Proficient in restraining and handling animals.
• Experience in collecting lab samples and processing tests would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint and triage incoming patients.
• Collection and analysis of lab samples.
• Diagnostic imaging and radiographs as needed.
• Nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
• Administration of medications and anesthesia monitoring.
• Effective communication of treatment plans with clients.
• Surgical preparation and assistance.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.

• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
