Job summary

Brittmoore Animal Hospital Inc is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our five-doctor, AAHA‑accredited practice in Houston, TX. This full‑time role offers a flexible Monday–Friday schedule with rotating Saturdays and a negotiable salary based on experience.

You will monitor anesthesia, assist with surgeries, educate clients, and contribute to a hospital culture that supports learning and teamwork. We provide extensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician.
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory procedures.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories, vital signs, and patient assessments.
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care from patient intake through discharge.
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs.
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing, including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal testing.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and dentistry while assisting with anesthesia monitoring and recovery.
  • Monitor patient vitals and provide attentive nursing care throughout hospitalization.
  • Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
  • Keep treatment and exam areas clean, organized, and well stocked.
  • Collaborate with the entire hospital team to provide exceptional patient care and client service.

What Our Veterinary Technicians Do
