Utah Veterinary Emergency Center (UVEC) in Herriman, Utah, is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Technician to support doctors as a clinical partner during night shifts. You will monitor hospitalized patients, assist with incoming cases, and help maintain a ready hospital for the day team.
UVEC offers mentorship, a strong team culture, and a comprehensive benefits package, plus on-call bonuses and a sustainable schedule with 11 PM–11 AM shifts when needed.
Utah Veterinary Emergency Center (UVEC) is a newly established, independently owned veterinary urgent care hospital in Herriman, Utah. We are building something different—a practice committed to practicing the gold standard of medicine while putting team well-being and genuine community impact at the center of everything we do. We’re looking for dedicated, skilled Overnight Veterinary Technicians to join our founding team and care for patients through the night.
As an Overnight Veterinary Technician at UVEC, you are not an afterthought—you are the backbone of the hospital after hours. Our technicians work side by side with our doctors as true clinical partners, practicing the gold standard of medicine in a well-equipped, modern facility. Overnight, you’ll monitor hospitalized patients, support incoming cases, and keep the hospital ready for the day team. You’ll be trusted, developed, and challenged every single shift. This is a place where your skills matter, your growth is invested in, and your contribution is felt.
UVEC offers a level of in-house mentorship that is rare in veterinary medicine. Our doctors and senior staff are personally invested in the development of every technician on the team. Whether you’re a newly credentialed CVT looking to build clinical confidence, an experienced tech ready to expand your skill set, or an unlicensed technician working toward your credentials—you will learn and grow faster here than at any other practice. We don’t just say we develop our people—we structure our entire operation around it. Our technicians are expected to operate at the top of their skill set and continuously push beyond it. You will place IV catheters, induce and monitor anesthesia, assist in surgery, run diagnostics, and manage critical patients. If there are areas where you’re not yet confident, we will teach you. That’s not a throwaway line—our mentorship program is built to grow your capabilities every week you’re here.
UVEC is built for technicians who take pride in their craft. We look for people with a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine desire to grow. The team members who thrive here are the ones who hold themselves to a high standard, welcome feedback, and find energy in working alongside a team that operates the same way. This is a place where your effort is matched by the people around you and where the work you do has real meaning. Culture is everything to us. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for disrespectful or toxic behavior, regardless of experience or tenure. UVEC is a team of professionals who treat each other with respect, communicate openly, and hold each other accountable. That standard applies to everyone equally, and it’s one of the things that makes this place worth building.
UVEC is not a corporate consolidation play. We are an independently owned practice founded by veterinary professionals who believe the industry can do better—better for doctors, better for technicians, better for staff, and better for pets and their families. Herriman and the surrounding southwest Salt Lake Valley communities are growing rapidly, and UVEC is here to serve them with a hospital built around modern medicine, sustainable work‑life balance, and a culture where great clinicians do great work. If you’re ready to raise the bar and be part of something built to last—we’d love to hear from you.
