Description

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
• Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
• Take x-rays
• Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
• Provide post-operative care to animals
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition
• Maintain accurate records of patient information

Skills:

• Proficient in aseptic technique for maintaining a sterile environment
• Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy
• Strong pet care skills, including feeding, grooming, and administering medications
• Ability to handle animals safely and with compassion
• Familiarity with animal catheterization procedures
• Understanding of veterinary terminology and medical procedures
• Skill in animal restraint techniques
• Previous experience as a veterinary assistant is preferred
