Dedham Veterinary Associates in Dedham, MA is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician (Surgery-Focused) to join a balanced role with roughly 50/50 surgical and clinical duties.

You'll spend time in the OR assisting with anesthesia and monitoring, alongside busy general practice on the clinic floor, delivering high-quality patient care and collaborating with doctors and teammates. Salary is $27–$30/hour DOE, with one evening shift weekly and alternating Saturdays.

Some technicians want to be in surgery all day. Others love the variety of general practice.

If you’re sitting there thinking, “honestly… I want both,” you might’ve just found your spot.

Dedham Veterinary Associates is looking for an experienced veterinary technician who enjoys a true mix of surgical and clinical work. This is a balanced role—roughly a 50/50 split—where you’ll spend meaningful time in the OR and on the clinic floor, using your full skillset.

What you’ll be doing (aka where you shine)

About half your time will be spent in surgery—prepping patients, assisting, monitoring anesthesia, and supporting smooth, safe procedures from start to finish. You’ll be a key part of keeping things running efficiently and confidently in the surgical suite.

The other half? You’ll be fully engaged in the day-to-day of general practice—supporting appointments, handling treatments, working closely with doctors and teammates, and helping deliver excellent patient care across the board.

It’s the best of both worlds: focused surgical work and the variety that keeps your days interesting.

Who you are

You’re an experienced technician who’s comfortable in surgery and confident in your skills. You know anesthesia, monitoring, and sterile technique—and you don’t need constant direction to do things well.

You’re calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator. You take pride in your work, support your teammates, and genuinely care about the quality of medicine being practiced around you.

CVT/LVT/RVT is preferred, but not required—we’re most interested in your experience and surgical skillset.

Schedule & compensation

• Pay range: $27–$30/hour, depending on experience
• One evening shift per week (until 8pm)
• Alternating Saturdays
