Position Details
- Role: Overnight Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician, or Registered Veterinary Technician
- Status: Full‑time
- Salary: Negotiable based on experience
- Schedule: Three overnight shifts per week, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Responsibilities
- Welcome clients, obtain verbal histories, and record patient vitals
- Provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized patients, including monitoring, hygiene, and comfort measures
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and urgent‑care cases
- Safely restrain and position patients for medical procedures and diagnostic imaging
- Perform venipuncture, collect diagnostic samples, and place intravenous catheters
- Complete in‑house laboratory procedures and assist with diagnostic imaging
- Fill prescriptions and support medication preparation as directed
- Assist with patient intake, hospitalization, and discharge processes
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, treatment records, and billing information
- Clean, maintain, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Support anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures based on training and experience
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked hospital environment
Qualifications
- At least one to two years of experience in a small‑animal veterinary practice
- Previous emergency, urgent‑care, or critical‑care experience
- Availability to work overnight and weekend shifts as scheduled
- Strong communication, client service, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with patient restraint, venipuncture, laboratory procedures, and hospital workflow
- Familiarity with standard veterinary hospital procedures and protocols
- Ability to remain professional, compassionate, and calm in fast‑paced situations
- Dependability and consistent attendance
- Physical ability to remain on feet for most of a 12‑hour shift and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Commitment to treating every animal humanely and compassionately, regardless of circumstances
- Team‑oriented approach that supports the hospital’s ethical principles and standards of care
