Newburgh Veterinary Hospital in Newburgh, NY is seeking a compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our well-established practice. You will support veterinarians, perform diagnostics, and care for avian, exotic, and traditional companion animals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting.
• Strong clinical skills in labs, radiology, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in diagnosis, treatment, and care of animals.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform diagnostic tests (blood, urine, fecal) and radiographs/CT.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures.
• Provide nursing and post-operative care and client education.

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to animal health and welfare, possess excellent technical skills, and have a strong ability to communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with avian, exotic, and reptile patients, in addition to traditional companion animals.

Here is What Your day May Consist of:

• Assist veterinarians in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of animals.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Perform diagnostic blood, urine and fecal testing.
• Intravenous catheter placement.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures.
• Perform diagnostics using radiographs and CT scans.
• Provide nursing care and post-operative care for animals.
• Educate and counsel pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health care.
