Sploot Veterinary Care in Chicago is seeking a Veterinary Technician to enhance their urgent care and general practice teams. You'll enjoy flexible 10–12 hour shifts without overnights, supported by a highly skilled nursing team with great tools for success.

Ideal candidates will possess a current Illinois veterinary technician license, at least one year of experience, and a passion for patient care. The position offers competitive pay, health benefits, and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of vet tech experience; emergency or urgent care is a plus but not required.
• Experience or interest in dentistry or anesthesia is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with surgery prep and anesthesia monitoring.

• Guide pet parents with care plans.

• RVT, CVT, or LVT — Current Veterinary Technician License in the state of Illinois
• 1+ year of vet tech experience; emergency or urgent care is a plus but not required

What You’ll Do

• Clinical Partnership: Support veterinarians with surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring, treatments, and diagnostics
• Technical & Lab Skills: Perform blood draws, lab work, IV catheter placement, radiographs, medication and vaccine administration, and wound care assistance
• Client Education & Support: Guide and reassure pet parents by clearly communicating care plans and at-home instructions
• Clinic Operations: Maintain accurate digital records (with AI scribe support), restock supplies, and keep equipment clean and sterilized
• Culture & Mentorship: Contribute to a positive, solutions-focused team environment and support the growth of veterinary assistants
