Meadowrun Affordable Pet Care is seeking a skilled, experienced and caring Veterinary Technician/Nurse to provide assistance to the Veterinarians of the hospital in the medical care of its feline and canine patients.

Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience assisting veterinarians with patient care and medical treatments.
• Medication administration, vaccine administration, acquiring laboratory samples and processing in-house lab samples, anesthesia induction, IV catheter placement, monitoring anesthesia for surgical procedures, surgical preparation, hospitalized patient care, wound care, emergency care, restraint, laser therapy, digital radiology familiarity, euthanasia protocols, and possessing the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and medical staff.
• Must be able to use Windows based computer systems, word processing, email, web search and type at least 25 words per minute.
• Basic math and writing skills are necessary.
• Safely lifting 30 to 50 pounds and proper ability to restrain animals are required.

Education

A minimum of a High School Degree or G.E.D. is required, Certificate of Completion from an AVMA accredited school of Veterinary Technology or bachelor’s degree is preferred and/or at least 3‑5 years’ experience working in the veterinary field.
