Job summary

Pet Care Clinic of the High Country is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant for a full-time role in Boone, NC. This AAHA-accredited practice offers a four-day work week with four 10-hour shifts, no holiday or weekend shifts, and a compensation package based on experience.

You’ll assist with exams, surgeries, and dentistry, handle anesthesia monitoring, blood draws, and client communication while enjoying comprehensive benefits, professional

Qualifications

  • Registered Veterinary Technician credentials or significant hands-on Veterinary Assistant experience.
  • Strong patient handling and restraint skills.
  • Confidence performing blood draws and IV catheter placement.
  • Experience preparing, monitoring, and recovering surgical patients.
  • Strong client communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
  • Commitment to high-quality medicine and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using appropriate techniques.
  • Perform blood draws and collect diagnostic samples.
  • Place IV catheters and support fluid therapy.
  • Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures.
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs throughout procedures.
  • Provide attentive post-operative monitoring and recovery care.
  • Assist with laboratory diagnostics and other clinical procedures.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to patients throughout their visit.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding patient care and veterinary recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation.
  • Collaborate with doctors and teammates to maintain an efficient hospital workflow.
