Job summary

Abqpetcarehospital in Bells, Tennessee is seeking an outgoing, responsible individual to join our technician staff. Responsibilities include prepping for diagnostics and assisting in medical/surgical procedures while ensuring proper animal care and client interaction.

Job description

Bells Animal Clinic is seeking an outgoing, responsible individual that loves dogs and cats to join our technician staff.

Responsibilities
  • Prep and assist in diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures.
  • Preform laboratory test and radiographs.
  • Operate and maintain hospital equipment – IV pumps, EKG, scales, laboratory machines, anesthetic monitors and machines.
  • Assist veterinarian in anesthetizing animals and monitoring during surgeries.
  • Properly restrain/handle dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Fill prescriptions and administer medications.
  • Pull blood – cephalic and jugular.
  • Place IV and urinary catheters.
  • Interact with clients and animals while collecting medical information.
  • Maintain cleanliness in exam rooms and cages after each patient.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary surgery area and equipment.
  • Communicate and approach job duties in a mature manner.
Job Requirements
  • Able to handle all sizes of animals and temperaments in a calm and professional manner.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependability, patience, and communicate effectively.
  • Expected to work some weekends and holidays – no exceptions.
  • Degree or certification not required but preferred.
  • Work experience preferred but not required – will train.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
