Job summary

Akron-Medina Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort in Medina, OH is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician to assist vets and other technicians in patient care and treatment. The role includes monitoring hospitalized pets, maintaining inventory, and educating clients about procedures.

The ideal candidate has a strong surgical background and a state license. Responsibilities cover anesthesia, lab work, radiographs, and collaboration with the practice team to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in state of employment.
• Ability to work on weekends as required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Obtain samples and perform in-house lab work; prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take and develop radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals as needed during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and assist with equipment.
• Communicate with clients and team about patient plans and concerns.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
