• CVT or ALAT certification is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline or Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors animals during the initial post-operative recovery phase, including TPRs and wound assessment.
• Prepares animals for surgery, including anesthesia calculations, induction, intubation, IV access and site prep.
• Performs and documents care, including monitoring physiological data and medication administration.
• Dispenses medications as prescribed by veterinarian and/or protocol specifications.
• Collects lab work such as blood, fecal and urine samples and processing.
• Communicates with veterinary staff regarding medical status and recovery process.
