Sun City Animal Hospital in Indian Land, SC is seeking a skilled Surgery Technician to join our busy, compassionate team. You will prepare and monitor patients through the surgical process, assist veterinarians, and provide nursing care to hospitalized patients.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Surgery Technician.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring experience.
• Proficient in assisting with surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of pre-, intra-, and post-operative patient care.
• Experience collecting and processing laboratory samples.
• Experience positioning patients and obtaining radiographs.
• Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping.
• Strong communication and client-service skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description

What You’ll Do

As a Surgery Technician, you’ll play a key role in preparing, monitoring, and caring for patients throughout the surgical process. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing patients for surgery and providing post-operative care


• Assisting veterinarians with surgical procedures


• Monitoring anesthesia and patient vital signs throughout procedures


• Safely handling and restraining patients using low-stress techniques


• Collecting and processing laboratory samples


• Positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic radiographs


• Administering medications and treatments


• Providing nursing care to hospitalized patients


• Completing accurate surgical notes and medical records


• Reviewing patient histories and communicating important information to the veterinary team


• Communicating treatment plans and continued-care instructions with clients


• Working collaboratively with veterinarians and the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care

Qualifications

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

• 2+ years of experience as a Surgery Technician


• Strong hands-on experience with anesthesia monitoring


• Proficiency assisting with surgical procedures


• Knowledge of pre-operative, surgical, and post-operative patient care


• Experience collecting and processing laboratory samples


• Experience positioning patients and obtaining radiographs


• Strong patient-handling and low-stress restraint skills


• Excellent attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping

• The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
