Sun City Animal Hospital in Indian Land, South Carolina, is seeking a Surgery Technician to join a 2-doctor practice dedicated to high-quality small animal care. You’ll prepare patients, monitor anesthesia, assist with surgeries, and contribute to post-operative care in a collaborative setting.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of surgery tech experience, solid anesthesia skills, and a patient-focused, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Surgery Technician.
• Strong hands-on experience with anesthesia monitoring.
• Proficiency assisting with surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of pre-operative, surgical, and post-operative patient care.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

As a Surgery Technician, you’ll play a key role in preparing, monitoring, and caring for patients throughout the surgical process. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing patients for surgery and providing post-operative care
• Assisting veterinarians with surgical procedures
• Monitoring anesthesia and patient vital signs throughout procedures
• Safely handling and restraining patients using low-stress techniques
• Collecting and processing laboratory samples
• Positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic radiographs
• Administering medications and treatments
• Providing nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Completing accurate surgical notes and medical records
• Reviewing patient histories and communicating important information to the veterinary team
• Communicating treatment plans and continued-care instructions with clients
• Working collaboratively with veterinarians and the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care

Qualifications

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

• 2+ years of experience as a Surgery Technician
• Strong hands‑on experience with anesthesia monitoring
• Proficiency assisting with surgical procedures
• Knowledge of pre‑operative, surgical, and post‑operative patient care
• Experience collecting and processing laboratory samples
• Experience positioning patients and obtaining radiographs
• Strong patient‑handling and low‑stress restraint skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping
• Exceptional communication and client‑service skills
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
• A desire to continue learning and developing your technical skills
• The ability to receive and apply constructive feedback
