Sun City Animal Hospital in Indian Land, SC is seeking a Surgery Technician. You will prepare patients for surgery, assist veterinarians, monitor anesthesia, and provide post-operative care at a busy 2-doctor practice.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Surgery Technician.
• Strong hands-on experience with anesthesia monitoring.
• Proficiency assisting with surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of pre-, peri-, and post-operative patient care.
• Experience collecting and processing laboratory samples.
• Experience positioning patients and obtaining radiographs.
• Strong patient-handling and low-stress restraint skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Exceptional communication and client-service skills.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As a Surgery Technician, you’ll play a key role in preparing, monitoring, and caring for patients throughout the surgical process. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing patients for surgery and providing post-operative care
• Assisting veterinarians with surgical procedures
• Monitoring anesthesia and patient vital signs throughout procedures
• Safely handling and restraining patients using low-stress techniques
• Collecting and processing laboratory samples
• Positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic radiographs
• Administering medications and treatments
• Providing nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Completing accurate surgical notes and medical records
• Reviewing patient histories and communicating important information to the veterinary team
• Communicating treatment plans and continued-care instructions with clients
• Working collaboratively with veterinarians and the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care
