Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinary practitioners in providing care. The position is full-time and offers competitive pay ranging from $19 to $25 per hour based on experience.

The successful candidate will assist in various tasks including surgical prep, patient admittance, and ensuring the cleanliness of the facilities while thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of customer service experience in a medical setting is required.
• Veterinary experience is preferred.
• Solid employment history with proven reliability.
• Ability to work independently while being self-driven and eager to grow.
• Proactive mindset, always looking for process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pack prep with cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
• Wrap and organize surgical instruments.
• Prepare lab samples for outgoing laboratories.
• Invoicing/preparing estimates.
• Admit/Discharge patients.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in all areas of the hospital.
