Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Olympia, WA is seeking a Sterile Supply Assistant to join our Surgery team. You will clean, assemble, and sterilize instruments, operate autoclaves, and follow infection‑control protocols to ensure safe patient care.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work both independently and with a collaborative team in a fast‑paced veterinary surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sterile processing or sterilization protocols preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Clean, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Operate sterilization equipment, including steam autoclave and ethylene oxide gas sterilizer
• Use infection prevention and control protocols throughout the instrument-processing workflow
• Inspect surgical instruments for damage, wear, or defects and facilitate replacement or repair needs
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sterilization equipment
• Maintain an organized instrument pack room area to support efficient procedures
• Monitor inventory levels and participate in ordering of surgical implants
• Complete quarterly and yearly inventory counts of surgical supplies
• Work independently while collaborating with the surgical and hospital teams
• Assist in all aspects of patient care as needed
