Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a dedicated Sterile Supply Assistant to join our Surgery team. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality instruments and sterile preparation to support efficient surgical workflow.

Responsibilities include preparing and sterilizing supplies, assisting surgeons and nursing staff, managing inventory and PAR levels, and coordinating patient admissions, discharges, and post-operative instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including surgical clipping and aseptic preparation.
• Set up and break down operating rooms before and after procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and scrub into surgical procedures as directed.
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures.
• Clean, sterilize, package, and organize surgical instruments and supplies.
• Maintain sterile supply inventory and ensure surgical packs are stocked and available.
• Turn over operating rooms efficiently between procedures.
• Assist with patient transport and recovery as needed.
• Communicate with clients regarding appointments, admissions, discharges, and postoperative instructions.
• Support the surgical team to ensure timely and efficient workflow throughout the day.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the surgery suite in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Surgery Service.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Sterile Supply Assistant to join our Surgery team!

Pay: $17 - $23 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

We are seeking a Sterile Supply Assistant with a self-motivated, positive attitude to add to our surgical team. This person should be organized and focused on maintaining high-quality instruments and patient care through sterile preparation.

As a Sterile Supply Assistant, You Will

• Prepare and maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including surgical clipping and aseptic preparation.

• Manage all inventory for the Surgery Department, including monitoring stock levels, maintaining appropriate PAR levels, ordering supplies, receiving shipments, and ensuring product availability to support daily operations.
• Provide support to the Surgery Department as needed. Surgical assisting duties may be required based on caseload, staffing needs, and operational demands.
