The Boston MSPCA-Angell seeks a Veterinary Assistant/Technician to support internal medicine, general medicine and specialty services. You will assist with exams, inpatient and outpatient visits, and初期のケース管理 in a collaborative hospital setting.
Responsibilities include phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, point-of-care testing, dosing calculations, and record-keeping. A minimum of 1 year veterinary experience and certification are required; a cover letter is requested.
This is a full-time 40 hour a week position, day shift.
The Specialty Services Float- Assistant or Technician is responsible for working collaboratively within the Department of Clinical Services and with the other services throughout the organization. This person will work primarily alongside internal medicine, general medicine and other specialty services in assisting with the following tasks described below. These services include providing veterinary support in the examination room with outpatient and inpatient visits, assisting with the initial case management of animals admitted to the hospital and completing scheduled tech appointments.
This person must be able to interact with all staff members and clients in a positive and dynamic manner and provide technical advice following hospital policies and procedures. The position requires knowledge of their general veterinary specialty’s clinical tests, procedures, protocols, medical terminology, animal handling and math skills. The assistant should be able to communicate, orally and in writing, veterinary specific clinical information regarding services for our clients and other hospital staff. The position will be involved in the continuous training of other new staff.

Veterinary Assistants starting $22-$27/hour
Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $25-$30/hr, $5000 Sign on Bonus for CVTs!

We are looking for applicants with at least one year of experience working as a veterinary technician/assistant. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills. In order to be hired as a veterinary technician one must be a certified veterinary technician.
