We are seeking an enthusiastic veterinary science professional to lead the Veterinary Science Focus Program at EXPLO Middle School at Wellesley College.
EXPLO Middle School is the leading enrichment program for middle schoolers, inspiring students ages 12 to 14 (currently in grades 6-8) since 1977. Our four-week summer program runs as two 2-week sessions at Wellesley College, just outside Boston, with day and residential options.
In EXPLO 360°, students design their own program from dozens of hands-on workshops and electives. In our Focus programs, Veterinary Science and Medical Rotations, they dig deep into one field. Instructors spark curiosity and bring classes to life. Advisors build belonging, running the activities, events, and trips that turn a campus into a community. They are supported by experienced academic, student life, and operations leaders who provide coaching, feedback, and guidance throughout the summer.
As the Veterinary Science Instructor, you will engage with a dynamic, project-based curriculum crafted by EXPLO’s professional curriculum development team, yet retain the flexibility to infuse your teaching with your unique expertise, interests, and passion for the field.
In this role, you will guide bright and curious students through an experience that emphasizes collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving, supported on the ground by EXPLO’s Office of Teaching and Learning. You will have the opportunity to facilitate connections with guest speakers and organizations working on the frontiers of veterinary science, and inspire students to explore both new areas of study and potential future career paths.
The Veterinary Science curriculum features visiting faculty, guest speakers, off-campus trips, and projects with organizations at the cutting edge of the field. More information and a course description can be found on our website: https://explo.org/veterinary-science
