Job summary

River City Veterinary Hospital in Richmond, VA is seeking a friendly receptionist to join our team. You will manage the front desk, handle calls, appointments, and patient records while delivering compassionate client service.

• Be the Director of First Impressions: manage a multi-line phone system, greet clients with a positive attitude, and ensure every interaction reflects compassionate care.
• Ensure Seamless Care Coordination: maintain accurate medical records, manage appointment schedules, and handle financial transactions.
• Advocate for Pet Health: educate clients on preventative care and hospital services to ensure every pet gets the best care possible.
• Embody Compassion and Empathy: be a calming presence for clients, demonstrating empathy and respect in every situation and treating each pet like your own.

To streamline client communication and improve workflow efficiency, we utilize modern digital tools like PetPage by AllyDVM, allowing for seamless communication, appointment requests, and prescription refills, even outside of our regular office hours (M-F 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM). You will be fully supported by a dedicated team that prioritizes delivering pro-active healthcare. Your Impact as a Receptionist

What You'll Bring to the Team

• A passion for providing excellent customer service and a genuine love for animals.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage stressful situations with good judgment and a positive attitude.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative, team-first mindset and the ability to work both independently and with direction.
• Experience with veterinary software is preferred. A flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays, is required.
