Job summary

Reading Vets for Pets in Reading is seeking a friendly Veterinary Receptionist to join our welcoming team. You will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, manage bookings, and support the clinical team with accurate information.

This part-time role requires superb customer service, reliability, and a calm, proactive approach. You will thrive in a busy surgery, using our online booking system and helping clients feel confident and cared for.

  • Ability to operate our online booking system and manage payments.
  • Strong focus on delivering excellent client care for clients and pets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding service to clients while ensuring high standards of care for their pets.
  • Be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, and liaison with the clinical team.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, pets, and colleagues.
  • Greet clients, offer guidance, and provide clear information.
  • Manage payments and book future appointments.
  • Coordinate day-to-day practice operations using our online booking system.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Reading Vets for Pets for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly and welcoming team. If you are passionate about delivering excellent client care and thrive in a supportive, team-focused environment, this could be the perfect role for you.

What your typical day will look like:
  • Providing outstanding service to our clients while ensuring the highest standard of care for their pets, acting as a key link between clients and the clinical team
  • Building strong, positive relationships with clients, their pets, and your colleagues
  • Ensuring every client visit is a positive experience, so clients leave feeling confident, supported, and happy to return
  • Greeting clients warmly and offering support, guidance, and clear, accurate information
  • Managing payments and confidently booking future appointments
  • Coordinating the smooth day-to-day running of the practice using our online booking system, so strong computer skills are essential

This is a Part-Time Role working 25 hours over 3 shifts per week ( 2 x 9.5 hour shifts and 1 x 5 hour shift) and 1 in 4 Saturdays on rotation (9am-6pm).

Previous Experience In a Customer Facing Role Is Essential.
