BluePearl Pet Hospital in Downtown Manhattan is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. You will be the first BluePearl Associate that clients see, greeting them with warmth and professionalism.

The role requires calm, compassionate communication in stressful situations, managing appointments, identifying emergencies, and coordinating with the care team. We offer shift differentials, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients at hospital entry with warmth, eye contact, and professional acknowledgement.
• Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly to clients and over the phone.
• Assess arriving clients and pets to identify emergencies and standard visits.
• Determine whether an arrival is a stat or standard emergency and triage accordingly.
• Respond to non‑patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
• Confirm appointments in advance and inform clients how to prepare their pet for visits.
• Offer emotional support and resources to grieving clients with discretion.
• Act as a liaison between clients and service teams during handling of pet remains.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Downtown Manhattan is seeking a compassionate, organized, and motivated Overnight Veterinary Receptionist to join our team!

Pay: $21. 50 - $29.50 + competitive shift differentials

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

We Also Offer Competitive Shift Differential Pay For Eligible Hours Worked For Nights And Weekends. Shift Differentials Are Based On a 4-hour Minimum. For Example

• Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 Shift Differential

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, our Veterinary Receptionists are imperative to the success of our hospital. In this position, you are the first BluePearl Associate that the client sees. You will ensure that each client receives the care and attention that they need. You will need to be able to function calmly and compassionately in situations that can be very emotional and difficult for our clients.

As a Veterinary Receptionist

• You will greet and make friendly eye contact every time our hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgement.
• You are always offering a friendly smile, strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor.
• You are a compassionate listener.
• You speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.
• You will assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need, as well as the pet’s general condition.
• You will determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
• You will respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
• You are responsible for confirming all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
• You will offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
• You serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
