Gateway Animal Hospital in West Virginia seeks an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to oversee daily operations, staff and client services. The role requires strong leadership, organization, and clear communication to support preventive care, wellness exams, and expanding services.

You will recruit and develop the team, manage inventory and payroll, maintain patient records, and promote the hospital within the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of management experience in veterinary settings.
• Knowledge of veterinary medicine terminology and hospital operations.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Highly organized and computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and support hospital team members.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and assist with staff development and scheduling.
• Manage daily hospital operations ensuring policies and safety standards are followed.
• Maintain inventory, ordering, vendor relationships, equipment, and controlled substances.
• Oversee payroll and other administrative responsibilities.
• Provide exceptional client service and address client concerns promptly.
• Support accurate patient records, scheduling, and communication of orders and treatments.
• Promote the hospital within the local and veterinary communities.
• Partner with Regional Manager and medical team to support hospital goals.
• Maintain a positive, collaborative team environment.

A courteous, organized, and experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to oversee daily hospital operations, staff, client service, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate is a strong leader and communicator who can effectively manage schedules, inventory, staffing, and team development while supporting a positive hospital culture.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Lead, train, coach, and support hospital team members while addressing performance and personnel needs.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and assist with staff development and scheduling.
• Manage daily hospital operations, ensuring policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed.
• Maintain inventory, ordering, vendor relationships, equipment, and controlled substances.
• Oversee payroll and other administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.
• Provide exceptional client service and ensure client concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
• Support accurate patient records, scheduling, and communication of veterinary orders and treatment plans.
• Promote the hospital within the local community and veterinary community.
• Partner with the Regional Manager and medical team to support hospital goals and continued growth.
• Maintain effective communication and a positive, collaborative team environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Experienced or Certified Veterinary Practice Manager with a minimum of 1-year management experience preferred or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred
• knowledgeable in veterinary medicine terminology and how to run a veterinary hospital
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Highly organized and possess computer skills
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
• Open availability with flexibility to change hours based on hospital’s needs
