Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's Veterinary Medical Center Pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacy Technician in Columbus. You will assist the Veterinary Pharmacist with prescriptions, stock management, and compounding tasks.

Responsibilities include entering new and refill prescriptions, preparing solutions and capsules, receiving orders, restocking shelves, and handling calls. A high school diploma and national certification with Ohio Board registration are required; sterile compounding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National certification as a pharmacy technician and registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
• Sterile compounding experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Veterinary Pharmacist by entering new and refill prescriptions into the computer.
• Prepare solutions, capsules, and compounds.
• Receive and unpack pharmaceutical orders and restock shelves.
• Process disposal of outdated non-controlled pharmaceuticals and update prices as needed.
• Answer the pharmacy phone and direct callers to the pharmacist; handle department orders for medications.
