Job summary

The Ohio State University' s Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Veterinary Pharmacist in entering new prescriptions, refilling orders, and assisting in obtaining medications. Responsibilities include stock management, compounding preparation, mailing prescriptions, and answering calls.

Hours are first shift, regular schedule of 40 hours per week, with potential Saturday work.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent is required.
• National certification as a pharmacy technician is required and registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Desired: experience with sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Enter new prescriptions into the computer and refill prescriptions.
• Assist in obtaining medications to fill orders and review daily Cubex stock reports.
• Prepare solutions, capsules and compounds; restock shelves and assist in reporting low stocks.
• Package prescriptions for mailing and handle department requests; answer pharmacy phone and refer callers as needed.
• Submit disposal forms for outdated pharmaceuticals and update prices in the computer.

Education

High School graduate or equivalent

National certification as a pharmacy technician

Registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy
