Job summary

The Oncology Anesthesia Technician at MSPCA-Angell in Boston is a full-time 40-hour-per-week role with no weekends or on-call. You will work with board-certified anesthesiologists to monitor anesthesia, assist with intubation/extubation, and support oncology patients undergoing radiation therapy and surgical procedures.

Compensation ranges from $25–$30/hour for Veterinary Assistants and $28–$33/hour for Certified Veterinary Technicians, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus available for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician.
• Anesthesia monitoring experience required.
• Must be CVT to be hired as a technician.

Responsibilities

• Monitor anesthesia during procedures and respond to changes in patient status.
• Assist with intubation and extubation.
• Collaborate with oncologists to provide anesthesia care for oncology patients.

This is a full-time 40 hour a week position.

NO WEEKENDS AND NO ON-CALL!!

THE POSITION

The Oncology Anesthesia Technician is a unique and exciting position in which, as a technicians you are provided with exceptional support from board certified anesthesiologist, allowing you to independently utilize your skills to the fullest in the planning, treatment and care of your anesthetic cases.

• This position works collaboratively with our oncologists in order to provide exceptional anesthetic care and nursing to oncology patients undergoing both radiation therapy and surgical procedures.
• Technicians perform anesthetic monitoring including intubation/ extubating of patients, monitoring patients and troubleshooting machines.
• This is a Monday through Friday position with no weekend or on call requirement, making it perfect for anyone looking to maintain a healthy work/life balance.
• This position offers a highly competitive salary range.

COMPENSATION

Veterinary Assistants starting $25-$30/hour

Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $28-$33/hr

$10,000 sign on bonus for Veterinary Technicians or Assistants hired into our Anesthesia Role!

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

• At least one year experience as a veterinary assistant or technician. Anesthesia monitoring experience required.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and catheter placement proficiently.
• To be hired as a technician the candidate must be a Certified Veterinary Technician, CVT
