Job summary

MSPCA-Angell, Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA, seeks a certified veterinary technician or experienced veterinary assistant to join our anesthesia team. This full-time role offers a 40-hour schedule with rotating weekends and holidays, plus on-call pay and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for technicians in anesthesia.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of anesthesia experience, MA CVT or transfer eligibility, and a passion for high-quality veterinary care.

Qualifications

Angell Animal Medical Center is looking for a certified vet technician or experienced vet assistant to join our skilled anesthesia team.

We have a $10,000 sign on bonus for Veterinary Technicians hired into our Anesthesia Department at Angell!

Our Anesthesia Department

With 3 board certified anesthesiologist, 4 board certified surgeons and 3 resident surgeons, 7 surgical suites, state-of the art monitoring and surgical equipment, this position is perfect for the certified technician who wants to be working in an innovative and challenging environment working alongside the best veterinary doctors in the country.

What You Have

You have a minimum of 2 years of anesthesia specific experience within the veterinary field. You must be a current Certified Veterinary Technician within the state of MA or hold a CVT/LVT in another state and are eligible to transfer your certification to Massachusetts to be hired as a technician.

Compensation

Veterinary Assistants starting $24-$29/hour

Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $29-$34/hr

Please note that candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications.

Experience

Required

• Applicants must have technical skills including, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, intubation, anesthesia, CPR procedures.
• 2 year(s): Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant with strong experience in anesthesia.

Preferred

• Work experience in a fast-paced, multi-veterinarian hospital, emergency/referral practice or veterinary teaching hospital is preferred.
