We're ideally looking for someone with prior veterinary experience who enjoys mentoring others, improving workflows, and fostering a positive, collaborative culture.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, you'll be ready to jump in and support the team on the hospital floor as needed—whether that's assisting at the front desk, helping coordinate patient flow, or providing support to the clinical team during busy times.

Working closely with the Medical Director and hospital leadership, you'll help ensure our hospital runs smoothly while supporting both our team and our clients.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Support, coach, and mentor team members while fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture. Assist with onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance conversations.
  • Daily Operations: Coordinate daily hospital workflow, manage scheduling, maintain inventory and equipment, and help ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable regulations.
  • Hands‑On Team Support: Assist on the hospital floor as needed, providing support to client service representatives, technicians, and assistants to help maintain efficient patient care and client service.
  • Client Experience: Help create an outstanding client experience by addressing concerns, supporting the front desk team, and identifying opportunities to improve service and communication.
  • Workflow & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, and communication while helping implement new processes and best practices.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with payroll preparation, reporting, supply ordering, and other administrative responsibilities that keep the hospital operating smoothly.

Schedule, Benefits & Compensation:

  • This is a full‑time position with availability generally needed M-F. Schedule flexibility is occasionally required based on hospital needs.
  • Compensation: $26-28 per hour, for each hour worked*
  • Performance bonus opportunities
  • Hiring bonus package: Up to $2,000 based on experience and credentials
  • CE allowance: Up to $1,000 based on credentials
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance and disability
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off in accordance with hospital policy and applicable law

Your Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of veterinary assistant, veterinary receptionist, or other veterinary office experience required.
  • Experience as a team lead, shift lead, supervisor, or other related leadership within a veterinary hospital preferred.
  • Demonstrated career growth through increased responsibility, leadership, or professional advancement in previous roles.
  • Passion for mentoring, developing, and supporting team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Comfortable stepping into both administrative and clinical support roles as needed.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, remain flexible, and lead calmly through changing priorities.
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and coordinating daily hospital operations preferred.
  • Proficiency with veterinary practice management software and Microsoft Office applications.
