Qualifications

• CVT preferred; minimum 3 years’ experience as an emergency veterinary technician preferred.
• Prior management or supervisory experience highly preferred.
• Self-motivated with excellent people skills (ethical, diplomatic, courteous, professional).
• Has strong leadership skills (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution).
• Detail oriented and organized with strong technical skills.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring skills required; phlebotomy experience required.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Energetic team player with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate technicians on best practices for client education.
• Collaborate with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures per state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed technicians.
• Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
• Assist and train staff in maintaining comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
• Maintain safe restraining techniques, sterile areas, and labs; train nursing team accordingly.
• Guide, mentor, and support nursing team members to ensure accountability.
• Promote collaborative leadership across departments to ensure excellent patient and client experiences.
