Job summary

Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) Appleton, WI, seeks a Veterinary Technician Program Support Specialist to provide operational and technical support for the Veterinary Technician program. Responsibilities include classroom and lab setup, equipment maintenance, inventory control, animal care coordination, compliance documentation, and support of lab and clinical activities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in related field required.
• One to two years in the Veterinary field preferred.
• Technical proficiency with veterinary laboratory and clinical equipment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain IACUC and animal-use documentation and logging.
• Monitor student care shifts and ensure tasks meet welfare standards.
• Oversee accuracy of student medical records for compliance.
• Coordinate animal intake, discharge and transportation with proper records.
• Drive college vehicles to transport equipment or accompany students on field trips; ensure safety.
• Obtain, maintain, and stock program supplies; maintain inventory records.
• Input students into Salt House Essential Skills site and log skill completions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including chemistry analyzers, CBC machines, microscopes and other instruments.
• Oversee care and maintenance of radiology unit, anesthesia monitors, dental machines, and instructional models.
• Coordinate service calls and repairs; maintain logs and warranties.
• Track patient charges related to animal care and student procedures.
• Support program records for accreditation or compliance reporting.
• Participate in student recruitment events and promotions.
