Job Description Summary This position provides operational and technical support for the Veterinary Technician program and is essential to maintaining a safe and effective learning environment. Responsibilities include classroom and laboratory setup, equipment maintenance and repair, inventory control, animal care coordination, compliance documentation, and support of lab and clinical activities. The position supports instructional staff in delivering hands‑on technical training, allowing faculty to devote more time to teaching, mentoring, and student development. The role also assists with program operations, special events, and college promotion activities, contributing to an enhanced student learning experience and the long‑term success of the program. This position also assists in programming and college promotion through attendance at industry events.
This position requires on‑site, in‑person work at the Fox Valley Technical College Veterinary Technician Program site in Appleton, WI. Work is performed in a variety of settings, including indoor and outdoor environments. The role involves frequent physical activity, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating or repairing heavy equipment. This position is primarily based in a veterinary teaching and laboratory setting and requires regular interaction with students, faculty, staff, and animals. Responsibilities require frequent movement between instructional labs, animal care areas, storage locations, and office spaces. Employees may be exposed to animal‑related allergens, odors, bodily fluids, disinfectants, cleaning agents, and other materials commonly found in veterinary educational settings. Flexibility in schedule may be required to support special events, field trips, or industry engagements outside of standard hours. Work environment may change based upon college needs.

Starting Range: $24.53 - $28.86 per hour. Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data. Note: Internal applicants’ wage will be based upon the applicable compensation guidelines.
