Job summary

MedVet, the leading veterinarian-owned network of specialty and emergency hospitals, seeks an Operations Technician to manage hospital inventory, orders, and supplies to support patient care.

You will work with clinical managers to determine weekly orders, track backorders, receive shipments, and maintain inventory accuracy while complying with regulatory requirements. This role is based in Utah with standard hours and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Inventory experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Works well in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Creates and submits orders to centralized purchasing based on par levels and frequency.
• Facilitates local purchases as required.
• Works with clinical managers to determine weekly orders for timely processing.
• Tracks backorder products and those with short expiration dating.
• Receives shipments, matches to orders, and updates the inventory system.
• Delivers inventory to proper departments and maintains inventory rotation and cleanliness.
• Communicates shipment issues and backorders for quick resolution.
• Codes vendor invoices and submits for payment.
• Performs daily cycle counts and analyzes inventory variances.
• Maintains repair tickets for equipment and coordinates transport needs between hospitals.
• Complies with regulatory requirements (DEA, SBOP, FDA, OSHA, etc.).
• Maintains inventory of controlled substances and performs audits.
