Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our fast-growing ER team in McMurray, PA. The role involves 3 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7pm, with every other weekend, providing high‑level patient care in a dynamic emergency setting.

You will work closely with the DVM and patient care staff, triaging cases, performing anesthesia and monitoring, running in-house labs, and educating clients on home care and medications.

Qualifications

• State-licensed RVT preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary.
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

We are looking for: Emergency Veterinary Technician

Schedule

3 12 hour shifts 7am-7pm, and every other weekend

Who you are:
