Garden State Veterinary Services in Woodbridge, NJ, is seeking an Instrument Technician to join our specialty/emergency hospital team. You will work with veterinary technicians, emergency doctors, and specialists to ensure sterile, ready-to-use instruments for surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience in a specialty veterinary hospital, is team oriented, detail minded, and communicates well with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a specialty veterinary hospital is required.
• Must be team oriented and able to work with a diverse veterinary team.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Good problem-solving abilities and client communication are essential.
• Positive attitude and ability to have fun while maintaining professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor surgery schedule and ensure equipment availability.
• Prepare OR packs, instruments, and materials for procedures.
• Transport patients to and from surgery as needed.
• Clean and sterilize instruments using ultrasonic cleaner and sterilizers.
• Wrap packs and prepare items for sterilization.
• Operate autoclave and gas sterilization equipment; training provided.
• Report damaged equipment to supervisor.
• Maintain stock and inventory of instruments and supplies.
• Restock drawers and maintain clean surgical areas.
• Support Radiology and other hospital areas as needed.
