Garden State Veterinary Specialists – Veterinary Technician

Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, NJ is seeking Veterinary Technicians for our ER department. Join a team of dedicated professionals to provide high-quality emergency and critical care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general anesthesia and sedated procedures, including sedation, induction/maintenance, instrument care and sterilization.
• Set up CRIs and calculate medical math.
• Place IV catheters and institute fluid therapy.
• Position for radiographs and maintain radiation safety.
• Provide compassionate nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Prepare and administer blood and plasma transfusions.
• Maintain accurate treatment sheets.
• Obtain and prepare blood samples for diagnostic testing.
• Operate mechanical ventilators during anesthesia.
• Educate clients on at‑home care.

Qualifications

• CVT/LVT/RVT preferred, or minimum 2 years’ experience as a technician, VTS highly regarded.
• Comprehensive understanding of anesthetic monitoring.
• Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens.
• Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges.
• Commitment to mentor veterinary assistants.
• Collaborative team player with long‑term relationship focus.

Schedule

• Swing: Sunday–Thursday, 4 PM–12:30 AM.
• Swing: Tuesday–Saturday, 4 PM–12:30 AM.
