Job summary

The Radiology Assistant at Virginia Tech's Veterinary Teaching Hospital provides essential administrative and clinical support to the Diagnostic Imaging team. Working with radiologic technologists, you help ensure imaging services are organized, efficient, and prepared for veterinary patients, clients, students, and clinical teams.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient prep, verifying orders, maintaining supplies, and performing routine office duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a medical setting (veterinary or human).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Ability to anticipate imaging team needs with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn hospital information systems.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to safely enter MRI bore room.
• Rabies prophylaxis required; provided by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist technologists with patient and exam preparation.
• Verify imaging orders and required information.
• Maintain organized work areas and imaging supplies.
• Complete routine office and administrative duties.
• Clean and stock equipment and procedure areas.
