Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Shift Lead to support the Practice Manager and COS in guiding the team to maximize hospital productivity and profitability. You will also perform Client Services Coordinator and Veterinary Assistant duties as needed.

The Shift Lead will ensure excellent client service, quality medical care, and effective communication with clients and staff while maintaining Banfield protocols and a productive work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• You must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum of two years of veterinary hospital experience.
• Ability to work at a computer for long periods.
• Ability to be confident around pets (dogs, cats, etc.).
• This position requires working weekends and evenings.
• Must have mental processes for reasoning, memory, math and language (English).
• Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in an environment with loud noise and strong smells.
• Vision requirements including close, distance, color, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional client and pet experiences while assisting the Practice Manager and COS to maximize hospital productivity and profitability.
• Perform duties of Client Services Coordinator and Veterinary Assistant when needed.
• Supervise the hospital team on a day-to-day basis to ensure quality medical care, client service, and associate engagement.
• Help create an environment where the team delivers quality, efficient veterinary care.
• Lead client education on wellness plans, preventive care, hospital services and campaigns.
• Assist in scheduling staff to meet client needs and plan CE and time off.
• Ensure compliance with practice policies and dress/grooming guidelines.
